JOSIAH AND LILAC

Updated: Sep 18, 2019

Quick overview. In the late months of 2018, Lilac contacted me to coordinate her wedding of March 2019. The brides family desired for my Day Of package, the services are concentrated to the rehearsal and the Wedding day. A month or so before the wedding, we met at the venue to discuss everything from theme, colors, timeline, blueprints and dreams that can be accomplished in the venue. From there, we establish what will be needed for the wedding and the exceptions that will take place. From there to the day before, the couple and their families are in charge of decorations (recommendations from me were given), centerpieces, food, desserts and anything that they would like to be present. The day before the wedding, along with the brides family, I showed up to coordinate set up. The Bride's family had all the decorations, centerpieces and blue print for ideal set up. When it comes to set up, the bride and her parents told me what to do and where to put things. After I am told their thoughts and ideal setting, I execute, coordinate and arrange to the best of my abilities. During the set up, there are times where I decorated the head table and cake table but it wasn't exactly how they had envisioned. Thus, taking opinions of arrangement, I can adjust to the specific way needed to accomplish the ideal scene. The reason I feel that I am good at my job is because I am able to strategize different arrangements depending on different features and opinions. After everything was set and ready for rehearsal, I left to come back in the morning for preparations.

During the whole wedding, I tend to the Bride and Groom, including their families, to make sure that everything was running smoothly. On the morning of the wedding, I am available all morning for my clients incase of any emergency or fixings. When I came to the venue, I fixed any and all arrangements or centerpieces that weren't centered or unified. I fixed floral arrangements that were falling due to the rehearsal. I filled water pitchers for dinner, turned on the mood lights and brought out the favors. Basically, I made sure everything was picture perfect before the photographer came to take venue photos. When it came to hours before the wedding, I checked with the groomsmen that they had all their attire and vendors are present.

When the wedding time came, I coordinated the brides entrance and the timing of the wedding. The wedding was proceeded with the officiant and they were declared husband and wife! The rehearsal came and the family needed guests to move from certain tables for the Bride and Grooms family, I was happy to politely ask people to move, one of my many duties. In addition, they needed a last minute MC, so naturally, I stepped up. After i finished arranging the dessert table, I announced the cutting of the cake. As the rehearsal came to an end, the Bride and Groom desired to leave earlier than planned; thus, I arranged their departure while they did their first dance so that by the time they were done, the sparkling departure would be ready. As I was finishing my job at their wedding, they started a new chapter of their life.
