SIMPLER THE BETTER

When it comes to events, I've found, the simpler the better.

There is so much planning that goes into events, from guests accommodation to the color on the chairs. There isn't one thing in an event that isn't planned or thought of. It can be really taxing to try to decide about every little detail. I have had a client come to me and say, "Im so stressed out, there are so many things to do! How do we decide how to decorate the cake table, the gift table or...?" and so on.       The secret?       Find something you're already decorated and go from there. If you already have decided on decorations for the head table or guest tables, use the same for the cake table; just arrange it in a way that compliments it best.

Adding too many decorations can distract from the meaningful items which create an event that is memorable.

Let me paint a scene for you.

There is a old rustic white church, around the arch of the door is a eucalyptus- white rose garland. The theme is elegant romance with a vintage twist. There is eucalyptus running down the aisle with candles staggered. Along the chairs, babys breath bouquets are tied with white ribbon.  Looking up toward the front of the church is a wooden triangle backdrop with white roses bunched on the side. Next, we go to the banquet hall where the feast will take place with tables for guests and toward the back is the head table. There lies the eucalyptus runner that was used down the aisle and was put in front of the table for greenery and added romance. Behind the happy couple, their wooden backdrop sits to bring dimension and a sense of unity between the two.  On your right is the table for the cake. On the table, the white roses and candles, from the aisle, are arranged so that the cake is lit with candlelight.  Included on the table is a sign that belonged to a grandmother. That sign, in and of itself, is priceless.  Adding too many decorations can distract from the meaningful items which create an event that is memorable. The white roses and eucalyptus can be expensive but it was used for both ceremony and reception. The simplicity and consistency of the decorations brings harmony throughout the event. Not only does that save money, it also is less stressful for the planner; may that be the professional or bride.

The simpler the better.
