WAYS TO SAVE

Do the math. Do the research.

Some people make it sound like you can DIY is the only way to save money in a wedding. Do the math. Do the research. Here are some simple ways you can save without making it more stressful.

First, you must space out cost so you don't feel like you are spending two full consecutive paychecks.

Decorations

  1. Look for decor in the right season. Want lights?  Shop after Christmas for discounted lights. Want roses or rose petals?  Shop after Valentines day.

  2. Go online to Wedding Consignment Groups for people wanting to get rid of their wedding decor.

  3. Instead of choosing a big bouquet for centerpieces, maybe pick  a single stem flower of your choosing.

  4. Buy Local. Look for flowers, bouquets and centerpieces at farmers markets which can come by the stem or bushel.

Venue

  1. Make sure the price is right for the size. Do your research.

  2. Trim the guest list. If there is less people going, there is less chairs, food and place settings to pay for.

  3. Choose a season, month or day that is less popular. Venues raise prices during the busy seasons and -some- give deals during the slow seasons.

  4. Choose the ceremony and reception at the same location. Just by this simple act, you save money for less travel time and paying for it.

  5. Use family. You might think that it isn't ideal but some family members want to help and they can be so helpful and cheap!  Whether it is through decorations, help set up or take down; if people ask to help, let them.

  6. Venues raise prices when it comes to alcohol, sometimes even double because of problems that have happened in the past. If you want a bar, maybe consider limiting it so that you don't break the bank.

Those are only a few of the ways that you can save money.  I know all of these tricks and more. When you are under my care, you will be well taken care of.
